Field Energy Analyst II | PECI | Los Angeles, CA

PECI seeks a Field Energy Analyst II – HVAC who will support Commercial HVAC field studies and energy efficiency programs in the Southern California Market. Responsibilities for this position will include for the Southern California Commercial HVAC market: acting as a field liaison to utility clients, training participating HVAC contractors, and shaping and managing energy efficiency and market transformation related field initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical HVAC experience, familiarity commercial HVAC packaged rooftop unit (3 to 60 tons) system design, operation, and maintenance and command strong, professional communication skills. Preferred candidates will also have HVAC technician certifications for the state of California and experience implementing and/or consulting on energy efficiency related programs and initiatives. Candidates must also have a successful track record of working independently, the ability to prioritize multiple demands and proactively develop client relationships. The Field Energy Analyst will work in Southern California and coordinate with other remote and Portland office-based team members and travel throughout a defined territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audits: Design and administer field audits to meet utility and regulatory requirements
  • Field Studies: Lead field study execution with and site inspections, monitoring equipment installation and contractor training, support quality control and verification. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Field Activities / Program Implementation: Responsibility and accountability for future program-related field activity including training, technical support, quality control, auditing and program energy reduction goals
  • Act as Client Field Liaison: Develop strong client & customer relationships; work with Portland-based team to communicate client feedback, concerns and needs; Implement initiatives & process changes in the field in response to client needs

Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge and training in HVAC rooftop systems
  • Experience in HVAC packaged rooftop installation, service and maintenance
  • Experience managing field personnel
  • Current California HVAC technician certifications strongly preferred
  • Experience working as and/or with contractors and technicians
  • Experience working with energy efficiency programs
  • Experience using HVAC diagnostic tools
